Must see in Budapest: The Parliament

Of course, since we are an art site and art blog, I must start the demonstration of the Hungarian Parliament with a beautiful watercolor illustration!

This beautiful building was designed by Imre Steindl, a Hungarian architect who unfortunately went blind before his masterpiece was finished.

Constructions started in 1885 and it was completed in 1904.

I mentioned it before but I never really got around to show you all, that Intuita Shop is not solely an online store - in fact, we have opened our first offline store in 67. Váci street, Budapest 15 years ago (in 2004). After quickly filling up the shelves of the store with Hungarian artifacts, we opened Intuita 2 in 2006, a few doors down from the original boutique, in 61.

Must See in Budapest: Váci Street

Váci Street in downtown Budapest is one of the world’s most attractive pedestrian shopping streets not only according to Hungarians.

The street received 76 points out of 100, outrunning well-known pedestrian streets of Paris, Amsterdam, and Milan. So if you visit Budapest do take a walk along this famous downtown street. I always joke about it to our offline customers in Intuita Shop, comparing our Váci street to the famous Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills :) The truth is, I think the similarities end at both being pedestrian shopping streets :)
