This ring is made of copper and brass decorated with cloisonné.

Cloisonné is a type of enamel. It is quite meticulous, a procedure that requires much patience, but it is worth it, because beautiful jewelry and ornament objects can be made with it.

This jewelry was made as it was in the old times, how even ancient, now extinct cultures made the jewelry. The material, its processing, the art of forging, was available for our ancestors as well.
Even its color is like as if it was dropped here from some romantic era/place!

To make the rings structure even more characteristic, it got an antic coating, which made the lower parts become darker. In front of the darker background it becomes even more visible how the metal’s warm reddish brown shine gleams from time to time. As you wear the ring, the edges the small clinches are regularly polished involuntarily so if you like it and wear it a lot it will be grateful and will get prettier! Except for this its color won’t change anymore, because of a fine polish layer that protects its surface from oxidation.

How to care for this piece

It is made of copper, which means that over time (a couple of years) it will turnish. The cleaning process is a bit unusual, yet very effective! You need to apply ketchup evenly onto the surface and then wipe it with a clean cloth.
