How To Choose The Proper Ring Size For Your Finger

Posted by Intuita Shop on

The best method to define your ring size is if you can measure it with a tool that serves this purpose. A tool like this can be found in most (if not all) jewelry shops, and if you visit one near to you, they will surely help you gladly, and will measure your size.

Professional ring sizing

Ring sizes are measured on many different scales, in almost every country they have a system developed. One of the three scales below must be available in your country as well.

Of course the best method to define your ring size is if you can measure it with a tool that serves this purpose.

The ring sizes are measured on many different scales, in almost every country they have a system developed.

Ring sizer chart

We put the scales next to each other so that the measurements which fall in one line mean the same size.
So a ring that is 2 1/8 inch by perimeter, meaning it is 52 mm, is about a size 6 according to the US scale, and its diameter is approximately 16.5 mm (take a look at the red line).

   1. Circumference
The first scale, which is on the page’s side, most to the left, measures the rings by their perimeter. Some measure in inches, and others in millimeters. You can find both of these on the two sides of the scale.
We use this scale on the website, and you will find your data in millimeters (mm).

   2. US
In the USA and lots of other places they measure the rings on the US scale, the one you find in the middle.

   3. Diameter
And the right-hand scale rates the sizes by the rings diameter.

With the help of this scale I hope you can define ring will fit you from the ones we have here at Intuita Shop.

Once again: the sizes found in the description beside the rings show the sizes according to the scale marked with red: namely the perimeter of the rings in mm.

Experience shows that with sizing based on the perimeter, we get such a delicate scale that 3 continuing sizes can also be comfortably worn. So if your own ring that you have measured barely goes on your finger, then you can choose one which is 1-2 sizes bigger. If you feel that although your own ring fits, a little bit smaller would be better, then you can perhaps choose one which is 1 or maybe 2 sizes smaller. Now if it fits just right, then if the prettiest ring at Intuita is one size smaller or bigger then your own ring, don’t leave it here for all the world!

(Some suggest that with the help of a paper strip or a thread, which you twine around your finger, the perimeter of it is measurable.
Unfortunately, we learned that these soft materials behave so differently than metal, which is stiff and hard, that this measuring method leads you to very inaccurate results. The sizes measured with these techniques turned out to be much bigger than what we found comfortable for a ring.
I don’t recommend that you order a ring based on this.)

ring sizing with a ruler is not recommended
